On Architecture as an Oppurtunity to Spain’s History and Traditions
History leaves its trails in many special means; it can leave its mark on a nation’s language, arts, and most especially in its architecture. Spain is one of those countries that genuinely put much store in shielding their cultural legacy through saving architectural structures. This isn’t exactly surprising, given the beauty that the diverse architectural structures add to Spain’s landscape.
Naturally, one has to be suitably prepared before attempting to go on a vacation outside of their country; there are many things that could go right, and more things that could go wrong. A lot of people prepare for the spree monetarily but fail to plan for some of the more important part of the vacation such as planning cautiously which hotel to stay in; it’s important that you are acquainted with what places you plan to visit so that you can find accommodations near those places. Pay attention of this by learning through one of the most effective ways known to man—listening; people learn language best not by just reading about it but by impersonating the words, and this can only be done through listening to language courses like those that you can download at Rocket Spanish and other language pages on the internet. Rocket Spanish Download can help you learn the Spanish language as it employs various study methods for a very effective learning experience.
Spain’s architecture is something to be admired; Spain’s devotion to conserving their cultural heritage by preserving old architectural structures is also very venerable. For instance, the funeral chambers in the Balearic Islands have been there since the Bronze Age, but the government has done everything they can to preserve it for posterity; this is one of the oldest structures in Spain, but it’s still well-safeguard and sustained. There are also other prehistoric structures like the walled villages of Avila where structures like globular residence with thatched roofs have also been defended.
During the time when Rome was dominating countries left and right, Spain endured a change in their culture and this was reflected in their architecture as well. Rome’s conquests around Spain brought about a change in Spain’s religion, bringing with it a change in the kind of architectural structures being built around Spain. Other typical Roman structures like grand lighthouses and aqueducts were also made; perhaps the most famous of these would be the Aqueduct of Segovia which is, until now, very well preserved.
As the Romanesque influences prospered, so did the Gothic influences eventually made their path to the coasts of Spain. The construction of the Cathedral of Avila accepted the start of a new era in the architectural culture of Spain. It’s a cathedral that has subtle influences from Roman architectural trends but leans more towards the French and German influences.
There are more places that can get you better accustomed to the history of Spain through its architecture. In fact, you can spend the better part of your day exploring, observing buildings, only to find that you’ve only scratched the surface of Spain’s architectural fortune.

Sliver [VHS] $6.95 After her success with Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone opted for familiar territory with this campfest that purports to be a sexualized thriller about voyeurism but in reality is more of an excuse to get Stone and costar William Baldwin out of their clothes. Rear Window it ain't. Stone plays it drab and quiet as a successful career woman on the rebound from a bad marriage who moves into a mysterious ... |

Cheerful voyeurism, as well as the behavior glimpsed a... |
