How To Create A Stunning Underwater Floral Display
Floral arrangements for for
your home or indeed your office or workplace
are to be found in an enormous variety of
styles, from something simple yet understated like a single
rose in a long stemmed vase, to an altogether more grandiose display. The choice of flower can
also make a big difference to your display. One sure fire way to come up with a
winner of a floral arrangement is to pick one of nature’s most dramatic flowers
as your starting point, namely the lily. This can be
displayed ina vase in the normal fashion , but for an unusual and very striking way of
displaying lilies have you ever considered submerging them completely in water? It is a very
novel, modern way of
arranging these splendid blooms and will certainly catch the eye, virtually guaranteeing that your friends will
be talking about your floral display or some time to come. These sleek architectural-like flowers are to be found in a huge variety of
colours, from pale pink, burgundy red, orange and yellow, through to greens and,
of course, white. Depending on the variety you choose you can normally
expect the blooms to be at their best for around a week or so,
which gives you plenty of opportunity to show
them off, but be warned - if you decide to
really go for it and display them underwater, their useful lifespan will be
shortened by quite a bit, meaning they will only last for three or four days.
There is unfortunately a price to be paid for such drama! So, what do you need to do to make
sure the blooms stay under the water and do not simply float listlessly about?
Use a pebble or perhaps something a little largeryou
have collected from the beach or from your garden or maybe even
during a walk in the park. Tie the base of your flowers
to it then sink it into the water. The plant will be completely
under the surface of the water but will look fantastic because it magnifies the display by means of the refracting light on
the water. All that is required to complete
the displayis to sit your vase or arrangement on a nice plate - a gold or
silver charger plate is ideal. Simply decorate this with one or two of your
favourite scented candles from true grace candles or Yankee candles and you are good to go! You
will have a simply terrific arrangement on your hands, one that has cost very
little to put together and one that takes very little time to put together
