Who is Banksy
No one knows who Bansky is. Yet, he is now possibly the most famous graffiti artist in the world. His work sells for tens and sometimes hundreds of thousands of pounds. His identity is a closely guarded secret and has been for many years, stories about his true identity appear in the press every so often but never with any real proof. Some believe him even to be a collection of different artists, others believe that he uses to be a butcher. Not even his parents know his true identity. They simply know him as a very successful painter and decorator. For years many believed his real name to be Robin Banks, such is the interest in the guerilla artist that went he supposedly threw a pizza box into a bin in Los Angeles the box appeared on Ebay with the seller claiming it had DNA traces of the famous graffiti artist in it.
A UK national newspaper, The Daily Mail has been on the trail of Banksy for the years and believes it wil lbe able to find in the UK. They claim that his real name to be Robin Gunningham and that he is from a privileged background, went to public school and grew up in Bristol. The paper have traced and spoken to hundreds of his former school friends and former colleagues and they claim that even at school a young Robin was a talented graffiti artist and used to paint canvas art even then. Their investigation found that Robin Gunningham’s life had several similarities to what we know about Banksy, he lived with a fellow artist in the late 90′s who then went on to exhibit with Banksy in an art store in London. When his parents were contacted they acted in a odd manner and denied even having a son saying the electrol roll must be wrong.
Will the real banksy ever make himself known?
Or is Robin Gunningham forever going to remain anonymous.
